Welcome to Ohlone Elementary School! At Ohlone we believe that all children benefit from rigorous, student-centered and standards-based instruction. We provide an equitable, academically-challenging education and a safe, nurturing environment. We strive to collaborate with parents, establish high goals for all students, and help them reach their goals.

Our school offers subject curriculum that is aligned with the California State Standards, and is supplemented with rich materials that recognize the diversity of our student population.  We have small group tutoring for our English Learners, and intervention groups for students who struggle from time to time. 

Ohlone benefits from a fabulous location in the Bay Area – close enough to San Francisco and surrounding towns to enjoy the wonderful learning experiences (with field trips to the Marin Headlands, Lawrence Hall of Science, museums and shows in San Francisco).  Yet the city of Hercules has a terrific small town feel, with city government and staff accessible and involved in the school.  Our students are able to take walking field trips to the public library and nature study trips to the wooded area and natural creek that runs right behind the campus!

We have a wonderful staff who bring decades of experience to the classroom.  Ohlone is fortunate to have a very low turnover of teachers each year, so we can offer consistency throughout the years of your child's education.   In addition, many of our parents were actually students here during their own elementary years so our tradition in providing an enriching academic experience spans multiple generations! We encourage parent participation in school events and activities.  By getting involved, you can help us provide a sound foundation to ensure that our children will succeed during these formative  years of their education and for the rest of their life.
